Moving Leandro Bolmaro may not be something the Minnesota Timberwolves would like to do at the moment, especially since this is the first year he is in the NBA after being drafted 23rd overall in 2020, but leveraging him and Taurean Prince could make since Thaddeus Young brings more of an upside to win right now.
Plus, with Anthony Edwards becoming an All-Star worthy player, Malik Beasley still being a high-level offensive talent and Josh Okogie continuing to see a lot of playing time on the wing, there are not many minutes for Bolmaro to crack into the rotation and make a difference.
As he continues to develop, the young Argentinian could definitely prove to be an asset for Minnesota, but they really do not have time to wait around if they want to have a shot to make the playoffs.
Acquiring Thaddeus Young puts the Timberwolves in a position to contend in games right now and gives them the depth they need in their frontcourt next to Towns.
