Would this trade make sense for the Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets are not a team that is going to win anytime soon. They are in the ultimate rebuilding phase and this means getting younger and moving veteran options. Christian Wood signed a free-agent deal last offseason and put up some big numbers. He is in the second of a three-year deal and this means he is right in the trade window.
The Rockets will be able to get more in a deal this year because Wood still has one year left of control. Toppin and Grimes fit right into the mix for the Rockets. They are both young players who have a chance to develop further.
Toppin is further along in his second year while Grimes could benefit from an extended role.
As for Knox, he has been moved to the bench and his time in New York seems to be done once the Knicks find a trade partner. This is a chance for both sides to get a fresh start and the Rockets might be the beneficiary.

Houston has plenty of options on who to move and Wood could be one of the first ones. If the Rockets continue to reshape the roster, this could be a deal they look to right away.
