Would this trade make sense for the New York Knicks?

The New York Knicks made sure to bring back their depth from last season and they did so by re-signing some veteran pieces in the frontcourt. This includes Nerlens Noel and Taj Gibson but they are not the star players the team might be looking for. Christian Wood is a big name in the frontcourt that could make a difference right away.

It is interesting to see the Knicks acquire a player like Wood without having to give Robinson up in the return. They should not be complaining. This is a chance to do different things with the lineup.

Also, if Robinson were to go down, the Knicks would have an immediate replacement. He has not shown an ability to remain healthy over the course of his career and this is something that should worry the Knicks.

Wood is a double-double machine and only improving from here. This is a chance for the team to improve down low and do so right away.

The Knicks have been aggressive but the team is off to a good start so it will be interesting to see how quick the team is to pull the trigger on a deal. If they do so, it would not hurt to inquire about Wood’s availability.
