Chris Boucher – Toronto Raptors
Building off the idea of adding some frontcourt talent, Chris Boucher is another player entering the final year of his contract that could draw a lot of interest from a team like the Wizards. Boucher was a Sixth-Man of the Year candidate last season with the Toronto Raptors and not only made a difference on offense but for defense as well.
Coming off the bench in 46 of the 60 games he played in with the Raptors last season, Chris Boucher averaged 13.6 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, and shot 51.4% from the floor, 38.3% from three-point range.
The Raptors utilized him heavily in their frontcourt last season, but Boucher has yet to see over 18 minutes in a game this year and when Pascal Siakam returns from injury, he could be the guy that winds up sacrificing minutes.
Precious Achiuwa, Khem Birch and Scottie Barnes are all getting more playing time than Chris Boucher right now, which is why the Raptors could be inclined to move him ahead of the trade deadline, especially since his value is as high as it will likely be.
LATEST NBA NEWS & TRADE RUMORS: NBA scout thinks the Wizards are a contender in the East
Owed just $7M this season, the lengthy 28-year-old big man could easily be moved to the Washington Wizards and they would immediately gain value next to Montrezl Harrell and Daniel Gafford in their frontcourt. Who knows if the Wizards intend to utilize Thomas Bryant when he returns from his ACL injury, but Boucher is a guy that can wear many different hats for this team, which is why he would be a valuable addition for the Wizards.
