1. Find 3-point Shooting

If the Boston Celtics are going to get things on track, at least offensively, they need to get going from the 3-point line. They are knocking down only 33.7 percent of their 3-point attempts thus far this season, which is 16th in the NBA.

Al Horford, Jayson Tatum, and Marcus Smart, who combine for 19.1 attempts per game, are all shooting under 30 percent from the 3-point line. Aaron Nesmith, averaging 2.3 attempts per game in his four appearances, has yet to connect on a 3-pointer this season.

Those four players are attempting more than half of the Boston Celtics’ 3-pointers per game and cannot get anything to fail in the early going. Finding players that can is something they need to look into.

Boston should be scouring the league for some shooters that might not be receiving playing time elsewhere but can be acquired via trade. He has a big contract, but Davis Bertans of the Washington Wizards is someone that could be available. The Sacramento Kings Harrison Barnes and Buddy Hield could be on Boston’s radar as well.

If they can start knocking down some 3-point shots, everything will start opening up for the offense. Hopefully, Smart calling out his teammates will be a wake-up call for everyone, not something that drags them down even more than they already are.
