Wort Destination No. 2: New Orleans Pelicans

Things have not gone well for the New Orleans Pelicans thus far this season. They currently have the worst record in the NBA with a record of 1-7. They are waiting for Zion Williamson to return to the lineup, but they are still weeks away from that happening.

This is the second time the New Orleans Pelicans have started a season without the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. There is a chance that Williamson misses more than a quarter of the season this time around, which would be an improvement upon the 13 weeks he missed at the start of his rookie season.

Desperate to make a splash and get this Pes team into the postseason, David Griffin could be on the lookout for any upgrades he can make. Goran Dragic would provide a good upgrade in the backcourt for New Orleans, but he likely wouldn’t enjoy landing here.

The New Orleans Pelicans have less of a chance than the Toronto Raptors do to make some noise this season. How the season has begun is all you need to see to know this isn’t a great roster outside of Williamson and Brandon Ingram, who is battling an injury of his own.

Dragic would receive minutes with the New Orleans Pelicans, but at this point of his career, he may prioritize winning over his statistics.

If that is the case, New Orleans is not somewhere that Dragic will want to end up, as they aren’t doing a whole lot of winning without Williamson and they haven’t done too much of it with him.
