Best & Worst Midseason Trade Destinations For Raptors’ Goran Dragic

Goran Dragic, Toronto Raptors, NBA Trade Rumors
NBA Analysis Network

The Toronto Raptors have gotten off to a good start in the 2021-22 NBA season with a 5-3 record. What makes that start even more impressive is that they are doing it without their All-Star power forward, Pascal Siakam.

The team is receiving excellent production from rookie Scottie Barnes, who has been a difference-maker on both ends of the court while filling in for Siakam. Fred VanVleet has been playing some good basketball as well and OG Anunoby is breaking out before our eyes.

One player who has not gotten in on the fun too much is Goran Dragic. Dragic was acquired in the offseason from the Miami Heat in the sign-and-trade deal that landed Kyle Lowry in South Beach. His introduction to his new team was a rocky one, as he had some disparaging remarks about the team.

He would apologize for what he said, but the fans probably feel the same way about him. He has not played well to begin the season, as he started the first game before being moved to the second unit. He lasted three games there before being removed from the rotation altogether.

Toronto has gone 4-0 since Dragic has been moved down on the depth chart and it is hard to envision him breaking back into the rotation any time soon. His original wishes of landing with a new team may come true sooner than later.

The Toronto Raptors are going to hold out and hope a team folds, trading for him instead of having to work out a buyout. If he is indeed traded, here are some of the best and worst landing spots for the Slovenian veteran.
