Missing the NBA playoffs for 15 consecutive seasons, the Sacramento Kings are looking to end what has been one of the most embarrassing postseason droughts in all of professional sports.

With De’Aaron Fox being a borderline All-Star talent and Harrison Barnes starting off the year really hot, the Kings may actually have a chance to earn a spot in the playoffs this year, but they will likely do so without Marvin Bagley III.

After trying to trade Bagley at the trade deadline last season and then trying to do so again in the offseason, the Sacramento Kings were unable to find a deal they liked for the former No. 2 overall pick, creating an awkward situation on their roster right now.

It is no secret anymore that Bagley and his representation are frustrated with the Kings and now, there is talk about the Kings potentially moving the young power-forward sometime before the trade deadline this season.

The Kings are interested in trading Bagley if they can, but their asking price is not cheap right now. Sacramento is wanting “first-round value” for their young forward and while this may seem like a steep price, Marvin Bagley is definitely still a valuable player.

He was drafted 2nd overall in 2018 by the Kings and when he has been healthy, he has been a difference-maker for his team. Bagley has missed nearly 50% of the Kings’ total games since he was drafted, but to this point in his career, he has averaged 14.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 0.8 blocks, and has shot 50% from the floor.

Assuming the Sacramento Kings continue to look at trading Bagley, the Boston Celtics are definitely a team to watch. Not starting the season the way they had liked and having some holes to fill in their frontcourt, Boston could definitely be a team that looks to add another forward closer to the trade deadline.

With a handful of trade exceptions to use this season and the Celtics wanting to prove that they are still a championship-contending team, Brad Stevens and Boston’s front-office could wind up being very aggressive in their pursuit of adding more talent around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown.

Do the Boston Celtics have the assets that the Sacramento Kings are wanting in return for a trade involving Marvin Bagley III? Let’s take a look at what Boston could be willing to offer.
