2. Minnesota Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves finished the 2020-21 season strong once they got everyone healthy and back on the court. They went 11-11 to finish out the season, which some people may not find impressive. But when you finished the season 23-49, going .500 over that length of time is impressive.
They have carried over that momentum into the 2021-22 season. Minnesota is currently 3-1 and playing some good basketball but if the Timberwolves want to sustain this success, landing a player of Domantas Sabonis caliber would help them accomplish that.
Sabonis could slide right into the starting power forward spot. That is a position they have been struggling to fill alongside Karl-Anthony Towns, as have tried numerous players there. They were linked to some this offseason, such as Danilo Gallinari and John Collins, but no deal came to fruition.
Sabonis would be an excellent frontcourt pairing with Towns offensively. You can play offense through either one of them and their skill sets would mesh. Towns could play from the perimeter while Sabonis dominates on the interior.

Defensively, the Minnesota Timberwolves may run into some of the same issues that the Indiana Pacers do with Domantas Sabonis and Myles Turner. But, it would be a worthwhile gamble for a team that has made the postseason once since 2004.
