Things have not worked out as well as the Los Angeles Lakers had hoped they would when they acquired Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards. The organization knew they were taking a big risk trading for the former NBA MVP and that it would take some time for things to jell together.
Adding Westbrook to a team that already has LeBron James and Anthony Davis in place needs some time for chemistry to build. It will take sacrifices from everyone to make things work and the team is still trying to find their way.
It is a bit of an awkward fit, but they are all motivated to win a championship and hoped that would be enough to get them on the same page. They picked up their first win of the season in their third try, defeating the Memphis Grizzlies. It was certainly nice to get the monkey off the back with the first win, as Los Angeles went 0-6 in the preseason and lost the first two games of the regular season.
One of the issues many people believed the Lakers would have after acquiring Westbrook was finding suitable depth. A lot of their depth from last year’s team departed, as Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, and Montrezl Harrell were involved in the deal.

If Los Angeles doesn’t get the results they are looking for, they could look to shake things up and reshape the roster. Over at FanNation, some trades were cooked up centered around Russell Westbrook. One of them had him landing with the Indiana Pacers.
