As mentioned before, injuries have limited this team’s success throughout the years and while they can get away with LeVert and Warren being sidelined at the moment, they cannot afford to lose either Sabonis or Turner.
With both of these guys playing a lot of minutes because the Indiana Pacers do not have many other options in their frontcourt, this team is susceptible to wear and tear, which is where Young would come in. Whether their guys are injured or not, Thaddeus Young would be a “security blanket” for the Indiana Pacers and a pretty good one too.
He can score, facilitate, defend multiple positions and is still an impactful role player either in or out of the starting lineup, which is why bringing back Young makes a lot of sense for the Pacers to do. Plus, Thad Young is in the final year of his contract, so they would not have to worry about paying him long-term.

Trading a draft pick and two bench players for a one-year rental of a really solid frontcourt player with prior team experience is not a bad trade whatsoever for the Indiana Pacers and their fans would definitely support this move to bring back a familiar face to their organization.
