Boston Celtics
One of the more underrated contenders in the league right now are the Boston Celtics, who actually have a really strong-looking roster.
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are the two All-Stars on the Celtics roster after the traded away Kemba Walker in the offseason, but now, they finally have a good amount of depth with the additions of Al Horford, Dennis Schroder, Josh Richardson, Enes Kanter, and others.
It is also worth mentioning that the Boston Celtics have a need for another frontcourt talent and they also have a $17.1M TPE from when they traded Evan Fournier to the Knicks in the offseason in a sign-and-trade deal. Boston is absolutely going to look to utilize this exception and why not go after a guy like Thaddeus Young?
He would complete the Celtics’ frontcourt rotation, he is an experienced player and the addition of Young would allow Jaylen Brown to move back to the shooting guard position and Jayson Tatum to move back to the small forward position, while also having depth behind veteran Al Horford, that way Boston would not have to play smaller lineups.

A frontcourt of Al Horford, Thaddeus Young, Robert Williams, and Enes Kanter is really strong and full of experience, which is why Boston is a team that could realistically trade for Thaddeus Young.
Thaddeus Young is also in the final year of his contract, so the Boston Celtics would not be tied down to paying him long-term and they could use his expiring contract to go after another key talent in free agency next season if they are unable to get past the Nets and Bucks in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
