2. Who Steps Up Alongside Stephen Curry?

The Golden State Warriors didn’t make the blockbuster trade many expected them to this offseason. Yet, they still did a good job of upgrading the roster and filling in some of the holes on the roster.

What they are most looking forward to is the return of Klay Thompson. Thompson hasn’t played since he injured his knee in Game 6 of the NBA Finals in 2019 against the Toronto Raptors. He missed the entire 2019-20 season with that torn ACL and then ruptured his Achilles preparing for the 2020-21 season.

Getting him back will help take some pressure off of Stephen Curry, who carried the offense last season with Andrew Wiggins. But, with Thompson expected to be sidelined at least a month into the season, Golden State needs someone to step up.

Jordan Poole looks like he will get the first crack at it. He had a strong preseason for the Warriors and could take over the starting shooting guard spot until Thompson returns. Free-agent signing Otto Porter Jr. could also be a candidate to help.

Golden State looked great in the preseason, going 5-0 with some truly explosive offensive showings. They are hoping they can carry that momentum into the regular season.
