4. How Do Brooklyn Nets Handle PG Spot?
The Brooklyn Nets have championship aspirations, but their plans for contending have changed drastically with the recent Kyrie Irving developments. Irving remains unvaccinated, which means that he would be a part-time player for the team.
New York has mandates in place that require proof of vaccination for events. As a result, Irving is not allowed to play in games at Barclays Center or Madison Square Garden until he receives his shot. Brooklyn decided that until Irving is full-time, he would not be with the team.
It is anyone’s guess when Irving will return, if at all. He is within his right to make any decision he wants, but there are repercussions. Monetary ones for him and now lineup and strategy ones for Steve Nash and the team.
Who will take over the point guard duties that were supposed to be Irving’s? James Harden could slide over to the point guard spot, allowing Brooklyn to use a more traditional lineup with power forward and center.

If Nash opts to go with someone such as Jevon Carter or Patty Mills, it could push Durant to play the power forward spot with Joe Harris and Harden on the wing.
It will likely be a work in process as Nash figures out which combinations work best. There is a chance the lineup we see tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks isn’t the same as the one we see Friday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
