Killian Hayes, Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons selected Cade Cunningham with the first-overall pick in this year’s draft. He is the heavy favorite to win Rookie of the Year heading into the season and the future might be bright for the Pistons. They are not expected to be much this year but they have the pieces to build moving forward.

This includes Killian Hayes, who was selected seventh overall last year. He was injured a bit so he was unable to take that full step in the league. Hayes appeared in just 26 games and averaged 6.8 points and 5.3 assists per night.

Hayes is just one piece that includes all-rookie selections Saddiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart. Despite injuries, Hayes showed flashes during his rookie campaign.

The future could be bright for the French point guard if he is able to remain on the court consistently. This is what Detroit is hoping for as the front office continues to add the young pieces needed to rebuild.

The Pistons are a work-in-progress but will be an exciting team to watch this season. If Hayes improves, he could be one of the best players to come out of the 2020 NBA Draft.
