Who will fill in for Onyeka Okongwu?
As last season progressed, Okongwu began to see an increase in playing time for the Atlanta Hawks.
Okongwu was seeing time as the backup center despite being an undersized big man in the NBA. But his energy and ability to defend multiple positions became a valuable asset for Atlanta to have.
Sadly, Okongwu suffered a shoulder injury in the playoffs that required surgery, meaning that he’ll miss a decent portion of the upcoming season.
In the offseason, the Hawks added Gorgui Dieng and Jahlil Okafor to provide some depth behind Clint Capela. Dieng is better on the defensive end while Okafor is strictly an offensive-minded center.
