Does this trade make sense for Philadelphia 76ers?

If the 76ers are to trade Ben Simmons, they should definitely demand to get a fair amount of value in return since he is An All-Star and All-NBA talent, but they really do need to come down on their asking price a little if they truly want to trade him because they are not going to be getting Damian Lillard nor Bradley Beal for him.

A trade consisting of Derrick White and Dejounte Murray, two experienced, young players who can immediately help a contending team, may be the best deal they are going to get, which is why this trade could very well make sense for the Sixers IF they have had enough with Ben Simmons holding out and there is no chance that he returns.

The tension within this organization seems to be pretty high right now, which is not good given their chances of winning a title are slim, to begin with seeing as the Bucks, Nets, and Heat are all also major contenders in the Eastern Conference.

Joel Embiid and Tobias Harris are definitely two key talents on a championship team, but this team really needs their third talent to step up and Ben Simmons has not been able to do so.

When you look at trade packages that the Timberwolves, Pacers, Pistons, Raptors and Cavaliers could offer, five other teams interested in trading for Ben Simmons, this San Antonio Spurs trade package really makes the most sense for the 76ers to continue contending right now.

The longer Ben Simmons holds out and the longer the 76ers draw this process out, not only will they be down a key part of their rotation, but they will be adding onto the list of why Philadelphia is a place other All-Stars do not want to go to.

Having this situation happen with a top-tier talent is a nightmare for both PR people and the front office, which is why the best thing the 76ers can do is to try and trade Simmons now before the season begins.

Trading him for two secondary talents in Derrick White and Dejounte Murray could very well end up giving the Philadelphia 76ers that extra little bit of firepower they need offensively, while still being solid defensively. This is a really fair trade package for Ben Simmons, which is why the 76ers would be smart to make this trade with the Spurs.
