San Antonio Spurs Receive: G/F Ben Simmons
Philadelphia 76ers Receive: G Dejounte Murray, G Derrick White, SAS 2022 1st Round Pick (Unprotected), SAS 2024 1st Round Pick (Unprotected)
Over the last few months, the Philadelphia 76ers have been fielding calls and making calls to try and trade Ben Simmons, but their asking price is extremely high.
The 76ers are wanting another superstar talent like Damian Lillard or Bradley Beal in return for Simmons, but it seems highly unlikely that any team is going to be willing to invest that much into the 76ers young big mam, especially now with the new seasons set to begin.
The 76ers are kind of stuck “in limbo” with this situation and if they do not take as much value now for Simmons, they could really be crippling their franchise for the foreseeable future.
Dejounte Murray and Derrick White are both established guards in this league and each young talent does something better than the other.

Adding Dejounte Murray gives the 76ers a great defensive-minded point guard who definitely shares a lot of qualities with that of Simmons in terms of being versatile and a “triple-double-like” threat at the point guard position. Derrick White is an alright defender, but he is much more of an offensive threat than anything else.
Last season, White averaged 15.4 points, 3.5 assists, and shot 34.6% from three-point range, making him another backcourt scoring threat the Sixers would be able to add to their roster.
Both guards though are young, core pieces for the Spurs to build with, so they may not be too keen on giving them both up for Ben Simmons.

On the other side of things, who knows if this is even the trade package the 76ers would want for their 3x All-Star! Daryl Morey and this front office have been very clear about wanting an All-Star-level talent in return and neither Murray nor White are this kind of player.
The Spurs’ only chance to acquire Ben Simmons is if Philadelphia gets worried about Simmons sitting out into the regular season and they just want to move him as soon as possible.
