Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: F Thaddeus Young
San Antonio Spurs Receive: F Taurean Prince, C Naz Reid, 2022 Second Round Pick (via WAS), 2022 Second Round Pick
The San Antonio Spurs, accepting they are entering a retooling phase, flip Thaddeus Young for even more pieces. Young is still a solid player, but the opportunity to further bolster their draft capital and the future outlook is too good to pass up.
Young would be heading to the Minnesota Timberwolves, giving them the veteran power forward they are looking to pair alongside Karl-Anthony Towns in the frontcourt. However, the price isn’t too cheap.
Taurean Prince was acquired from the Cleveland Cavaliers earlier this offseason in exchange for Ricky Rubio. He would be used to help match salaries. Center, Naz Reid, is the player that the Spurs would be most interested in acquiring.
