The Indiana Pacers’ biggest move they made this NBA offseason was bringing back Rick Carlisle as head coach. He will be replacing Nate Bjorkgren, who lasted only one season as the head coach before being fired.

The Pacers had their playoff streak snapped at five seasons and many people believed they would try and shake things up this offseason. As we enter training camp, the roster is relatively the same as it was last season.

Doug McDermott is the most prominent player to depart, signing with the San Antonio Spurs in free agency. The team’s first-round draft pick, Chris Duarte, and Torrey Craig will be tasked with replacing McDermott on the second unit.

The team did try to make a splash, though. They were the first team to reportedly send a trade offer to the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for Ben Simmons. They offered Malcolm Brogdon and the No. 13 overall pick for Simmons, but the offer was declined.
