Mo Bamba – Orlando Magic
Entering the final year of his rookie deal, Mo Bamba is a former Top-10 pick that still has a lot to prove in this league.
With the Magic having Wendell Carter Jr. and recently signing Robin Lopez this offseason, they may not need Mo Bamba anymore and could look to trade him before his contract expires if they do not view him as part of their long-term plans anymore.
Minnesota does have Karl-Anthony Towns at the center position, but their overall frontcourt depth is very weak. Jarred Vanderbilt and Jaden McDaniels are two young power-forwards on their roster, as is Naz Reid at the center position, but this team does need more depth behind Towns, especially since he has not played over 50 games the last two seasons.
Mo Bamba could be a really solid fit in Minnesota, and he could be a young talent they extend after this season to be a building block in their second unit.

Through three seasons, Bamba has averaged 6.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, and has shot 47.1% from the floor, which is not too impressive, but he has shown flashes of his potential as a rim-protector and three-point shooter.
Bamba is a 32% three-point shooter, and with a 7’10” wingspan, he could be an absolute menace defensively in the right system. Who knows what the Magic would want for him, as they have not publicly made Bamba available in trade talks, but seeing as they are rebuilding, the Timberwolves could get him for two future second-round picks.

At a low price with a potential high-reward, trading for Mo Bamba has its advantages for the Timberwolves, and he doesn’t bring any concerns with him.
The worst thing that happens is that Minnesota does not retain him after the 2021-22 season, and they let him walk in free agency, which is why this investment is worthwhile for the Timberwolves.
