Outlook for 2021-22 season
There were some Miami Heat skeptics heading into the 2020-21 season after they were one of the final two teams standing in the Orlando Bubble. Those skeptics were proven right, but Miami will come into the 2021-22 season with some heightened expectations.
Last season, Miami lost 10 games to teams that didn’t qualify for the postseason and nine total that they were leading by double figures in. The inability to show up against some opponents or hold onto leads will derail a team quickly, but with the added veteran players, there should be more consistency this season.
Kyle Lowry was one of the best free agents available this summer and snagging him for the relatively low price they did via sign-and-trade was an excellent move. His presence will help offset the loss of Jimmy Butler, should he miss time again. Butler missed 10 games last season and the team went 2-8 in those games.
A starting lineup of Lowry, Duncan Robinson, Butler, P.J. Tucker, and Bam Adebayo is one that will give opponents fits on both ends of the court. When you add in Tyler Herro, the Heat have one of the best top-six in the Eastern Conference.

With a great head coach in Erik Spoelstra, the Heat should return to prominence this season as one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. They will have to bring it each and every night though, as the Eastern Conference improved a lot behind the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks.
