Does this trade make sense for Washington Wizards?

Getting rid of Bradley Beal now while his value is at an all-time high definitely brings a ton of future value to a franchise that seems like they have been rebuilding for the last decade or so, but at the same time, why trade Beal when you can build with him for the future?

Bradley Beal has remained loyal to the Washington Wizards and has stated that he once again plans to be loyal to them through this hopefully short rebuilding process, so trading him when he is arguably one of the Top-15 players in the league right now does not really make much sense.

Last season, Beal averaged 31.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.4 assists, which resulted in him not only being an All-Star for the third time in the last four seasons but also being named to the All-NBA list for the first time in his career.

The now 9-year veteran is playing the best basketball of his career right now and with other key talents next to him in Spencer Dinwiddie, Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Rui Hachimura, and others, the Wizards actually have a chance to be a playoff team again during the 2021-22 season.

If they are not, then Beal could possibly look to request a trade next offseason, but he is going to be eligible for a super-max contract extension that would give him roughly $230M over five seasons. This is likely why Bradley Beal has not requested a trade yet because who would turn down the ability to sign a $230M contract?

Right now, the best thing the Washington Wizards can do is wait and see how things go to begin the 2021-22 season and then build their roster from there. There is no reason why they should want to give up Bradley Beal unless he wants out of Washington and right now, he seems to be content being the leader of this team.
