One Team Who Should Aggressively Pursue Tyler Herro
The Miami Heat selected Tyler Herro with the 13th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He came on hot during his rookie season but didn’t make as big of a step in his development in Year 2 as the organization had hoped.
That lack of development in his second year, coupled with some concerns with his life off the court, was what drove a lot of the trade rumors this offseason.
For now, Herro remains on the roster, and he is just focusing on basketball. He isn’t paying attention to the noise anymore. Instead, focusing on getting himself better and the team better on the court.
That is the approach that he should be taking. But if Miami did put him on the trade block, a few teams would be interested. He has shown a smooth shooting stroke and natural ability to score.

He is a solid playmaker, giving him the potential to at least be a high-end sixth man. If he can continue improving defensively, he could slide into a starting shooting guard role.
His timeline not being the same as the other players on the team could be why he is on the move. If Miami trades him, a trade to a team with younger players will make sense for Herro. The Detroit Pistons would present an excellent landing spot for him.
Let’s examine why the Detroit Pistons should pursue Herro and why they are a great landing spot for him.
