Does this trade make sense for Denver Nuggets?

There is no need for the Denver Nuggets to pursue Ben Simmons, which is why this trade makes zero sense for the Nuggets. Nikola Jokic is a ball-handler, facilitator, and all-around playmaker for this team at the center position, so why would they want to add a primary ball-handler and facilitator in Ben Simmons, who is not really known for being an offensive threat.

Sure, Simmons would make the Nuggets a lot better defensively, and he could take pressure off of Jokic, but this price is just way too much for Denver to pay. Michael Porter Jr. has a chance to grow into a two-way star in this league, and with Jamal Murray out, he could take a massive leap in his career this upcoming year as the No. 2 option in Denver’s offense next to Nikola Jokic.

Aaron Gordon did not play well for the Nuggets last season, as he averaged 10.2 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and shot just 26.6% from three-point land to finish off the regular season. Still, with a full offseason to recover and learn this system, the entire Nuggets’ coaching staff believes he can be a key contributor for them at the power forward position.

Speaking of the power-forward position, the Nuggets also have Jeff Green and JaMychal Green as key veterans who will impact the game off the bench, so where does Ben Simmons really fit into the Nuggets system? The clear answer is that he does not fit in whatsoever, which is why this would be a terrible move for the Nuggets to make.
