Nikola Jokic winning the league-MVP award was the pinnacle of the Denver Nuggets’ 2020-21 NBA season, which ended in injury disappointments and getting swept in the Western Conference Semifinals by the Phoenix Suns.

As soon as Jamal Murray tore his ACL in mid-April, the Nuggets’ chances of being a contending team in the Western Conference seemed to fall drastically, but they still made a good run.

Michael Porter Jr. emerged as a key talent for the Nuggets on the wing, Aaron Gordon offers them upside at the power forward position, and they learned a lot about other players on their roster in Monte Morris, Facundo Campazzo, and veteran guard Austin Rivers, who signed a new contract with the team in the offseason.

Jamal Murray will be out to begin the 2021-22 season, which is a cause for concern for the Denver Nuggets, but they still have Nikola Jokic as their leader and should still be one of the premier teams in the Western Conference. However, could they look to enter the “Ben Simmons Sweepstakes” as a dark-horse team?

Let’s look at what the Nuggets would have to give up to add Simmons to their roster possibly.
