Would this trade make sense for the Portland Trail Blazers?

It has been relatively quiet for the Portland Trail Blazers this offseason, but the team’s trade rumors have not been. Of course, the addition of Larry Nance Jr. will be a positive one, but overall, the team remains largely the same around Damian Lillard.

Lillard and McCollum will continue to be at the forefront of these trade rumors until something happens unless the Trail Blazers take the next step as a team. However, what is going to change after how long the team has been together?

Adding Marc Gasol is not going to move the needle for the Trail Blazers by any means. However, there is a real need for depth at the center position behind Jusuf Nurkic, who has consistently been sidelined due to various injuries in recent years.

Portland attempted to bring back Hassan Whiteside in free agency before he ultimately chose to sign with the Utah Jazz. The Trail Blazers did land Cody Zeller on a minimum contract but could use Gasol to provide depth and different looks.

Gasol knows what it’s like to win and can be a leader on and off the floor for a Trail Blazers team looking to improve in the Western Conference. His presence in the locker room could be helpful as Portland looks to get things under control.
