Extends Championship Window
No one has defeated Father Time yet. LeBron James and Tom Brady are doing their best to defy him, but eventually, he always wins. For the Warriors, they have to start thinking about the impact Father Time is going to have on their aging core of Stephen Curry, Klay Thomspon, and Draymond Green.
All three players will be at least 32 years of age during the 2021-22 season. Their title window is slowly closing, and they need someone to help them pry it open. Kristaps Porzingis could help them do that.
While he has red flags when it comes to injuries, Porzingis is still only 26-years old. If the Warriors can keep him healthy, he has already proven that he can be a difference-maker and play at an All-Star level.
Adding another player of that caliber to this mix could help keep the championship window open for the next few seasons. There aren’t many former All-Stars of that age readily available, so if the opportunity presents itself to acquire one, Golden State has to seriously consider it.

There would be some things to iron out should Porzingis be acquired from the Dallas Mavericks, but there is no denying the level of talent that the Warriors would be landing to help them win some basketball games.
