Avery Bradley gives Chicago Bulls more backcourt depth

The Chicago Bulls were one of the biggest winners of the offseason by adding DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball, and Alex Caruso, but one of their biggest losses this offseason was the fact that Coby White underwent shoulder surgery in June to repair a torn labrum.

White will miss the start of the season and could potentially return at some point in November, but it is more likely that the Bulls will not rush him back.

Ball and Caruso will be the two key members of the Bulls’ backcourt to begin the season, but could they look to add a key veteran like Avery Bradley? Everywhere Bradley has gone, he has found success being a “3-and-D” guard, and he was even a member of the Lakers’ 2019-20 championship team, even though he did not join the team in the NBA Bubble.

Over the course of his now 11-year NBA career with seven different NBA franchises, Avery Bradley has averaged 11.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.0 steals, and has shot 36.3% from three-point range, which is why he is definitely a smart option for Chicago to consider with one of their remaining roster spots.

The Bulls also have rookie Ayo Dosunmu in their backcourt, so having Bradley with this roster at full-strength would give them five guards, which seems like a lot, but he is definitely a key veteran presence that could be valuable for their locker room.

Plus, Chicago has not been great defensively over the years, and both LaVine and Vucevic are not known to be great defenders, which is why adding Avery Bradley could make sense as a combo-guard.
