James Ennis III joins the Los Angeles Lakers
One of the worst-kept secrets in the NBA right now is that the Lakers will add another wing to their roster ahead of training camp, and the guy who keeps being brought up in the same sentence as the Lakers is James Ennis III.
Last season in Orlando, Ennis averaged 8.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and shot 43.3% from three-point range in 41 games, so his stats really are nothing to brag about, but he is a seven-year veteran who is the epitome of a “3-and-D” player on the wing. Behind LeBron James, the Lakers will need to have reliable depth, which is why they will likely sign Ennis to a minimum contract.
Rob Pelinka and the Lakers’ front office have done a great job of adding key talents to their roster this offseason to complement their three All-Stars in Russell Westbrook, LeBron James, and Anthony Davis, which is why James Ennis III makes sense for them.
He is experienced, can shoot from the perimeter, and has a solid frame to aid defensively in perimeter defense and rebounding, which is why Ennis is the perfect fit on the wing for the Warriors.

They could potentially look to bring back Wesley Matthews or bring in a guy like Denzel Valentine on a minimum contract instead, but Ennis joining the Lakers seems like a given at this point.
