New Orleans Pelicans Receive: G Malik Beasley, MIN 2023 2nd Round Pick, MIN 2025 2nd Round Pick
Minnesota Timberwolves Receive: G Tomas Satoransky, C Jaxson Hayes, UTA 2022 2nd Round Pick

If they are unable to land Ben Simmons, the Minnesota Timberwolves will need to figure out ways to add more depth and talent to their roster.

Finding another frontcourt piece is definitely something they need to do since Naz Reid is their only option behind Karl-Anthony Towns right now and they could also use another experienced guard, especially if Beasley is going to be on the move.

Tomas Satoransky is soon going to be 30-years-old and brings years of professional playing experience with him to Minnesota. Last year with the Bulls, Satoransky started in just about 30% of the games he played in and he averaged 7.7 points, 4.7 assists, 0.7 steals, and shot 35.6% from three-point range.

He is not a high-level guard, but definitely a solid complementary piece next to D’Angelo Russell and Patrick Beverley in the Timberwolves’ rotations.

Jaxson Hayes does have some off-the-court issues he is dealing with that we are not going to touch on, but on the court, he is a dynamic, young center who could fit in perfectly with the Timberwolves.

Through two seasons in the NBA, Hayes has averaged 7.4 points, 4.2 rebounds, 0.8 blocks and has shot 64.7% from the floor, which does not seem that impressive, but his athleticism is off-the-charts and he has the potential to be a very special big man on both ends of the court.

He is exactly the kind of center the Timberwolves should want behind Towns in their depth chart, which is why Minnesota gets a fair amount of value in return for Malik Beasley.

This trade cannot be done until October 8 at the earliest due to Satoransky just being traded to the Pelicans via a sign-and-trade for Lonzo Ball, but that should not really change any player’s value unless they get hurt.

The Timberwolves need more depth and the Pelicans could utilize another primary scorer, which is why this trade could actually work out for both teams involved.
