Zion Williamson is going to be entering his third season in the NBA and in doing so, he will also prepare to play for his third head coach since being drafted first overall in 2019.

New Orleans has been trying to put things together in order to become a formidable team in the Western Conference, but they have failed in recent years to get the key talents they want.

This offseason, while they did not get Kyle Lowry, the Pelicans did bring in Devonte’ Graham, Jonas Valanciunas, and a handful of other impactful players in attempts to finally make it back to the playoffs, somewhere they have not been as a franchise since 2018.

With Williamson and Ingram leading this young team, the Pelicans definitely have a roster who could contend for a playoff spot, but they may not be done adding talent just yet.

Adding another key scorer on offense could be something the Pelicans look to do, which is why Malik Beasley could be a possible target for them.

Now, with the Timberwolves being involved in Ben Simmons trade rumors recently, they may not be so quick to give up Beasley since he is one of their main trade assets for an NBA All-Star, but this is not to say that New Orleans becomes a third or fourth team involved in a Sixers-Timberwolves trade.

Beasley averaged 19.6 points, 4.4 rebounds and shot 39.9% from deep last season in 37 games with the Timberwolves, so he could definitely be a key complementary piece in the Pelicans’ rotations next to Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson.

What would the Pels have to give up though and what would Minnesota want in return for Malik Beasley though?
