Does this trade make sense for Chicago Bulls?

While Coby White has been a great young talent in the Chicago Bulls’ system for two years now, they do not necessarily need him after their recent offseason moves.

Lonzo Ball is the starting point guard for this team and Alex Caruso is going to be one of the first guys off the bench for them, plus the Bulls drafted Ayo Dosunmu in the second round of this year’s draft. That is a lot of guards in their backcourt, which makes White, in the third year of his four-year rookie contract, expendable.

Now, Chicago already has a limited number of draft picks over the years due to all the deals they have made over the last year or so, which is why giving up two future second-round picks is actually a loss of value, but getting a talented wing-like Dillon Brooks for this price would be a steal for the Bulls.

He is the type of player that can come in right away and not only contribute meaningful minutes on both ends of the court, but Brooks is definitely the kind of player that can take the Bulls from being a playoff threat to a contending threat.

With Coby White out to begin the season and the Bulls still missing that extra little bit of talent on the wing next to DeRozan and LaVine, this deal makes complete sense if Chicago can somehow pull it off.

White’s production will be met with the addition of Dillon Brooks and Troy Brown Jr. is nothing more than a bench player, which is why his loss means nothing for the Bulls.

If they can pull this deal off, the Chicago Bulls would definitely have a much better roster heading into the 2021-22 season, but it may be crazy to think this is the kind of value Memphis wants in return for Dillon Brooks.
