DeAndre Jordan

The Brooklyn Nets signed DeAndre Jordan to a four-year deal worth just under $40 million last offseason. Part of the reason he was signed was because of his relationship with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. That relationship may be why he has even lasted on the roster this long.

Jordan saw his role with the team diminish to nothing at the end of the 2020-21 season. He didn’t play a single second in the playoffs and his time with the team is looking like it will come to an end.

Jordan and the Nets are looking into parting ways via a buyout according to The Athletic. Shams Charania added that there are no final decisions made, but that it is looking more and more likely that Jordan will remain with the team.

No team is going to trade for Jordan given his contract and rock bottom value as a trade chip. But, for the veteran’s minimum, you can be sure that teams with a need in the frontcourt would consider signing him.

Once his buyout is completed, DeAndre Jordan will return to the west coast and play for the Los Angeles Lakers. He spent the first 10 seasons of his career playing home games at the Staples Center with the Los Angeles Clippers. Now, he will latch on with the Lakers and try to win that elusive ring with them.
