Ben Simmons
Things seemed to be quieting on the Ben Simmons trade front recently. The Philadelphia 76ers reportedly told teams that they are comfortable bringing him back for the 2021-22 season, but rival executives aren’t buying it.
According to Shams Charnia, those rival executives believe it is a matter of when, not if, Simmons is traded. All signs point to his career in Philadelphia coming to an end.
If that is the case, where may Simmons end up? There are plenty of teams that would love to have him on the roster. Despite his shortcomings offensively, he is a 25-year old who is an All-Defensive team, elite rebounder and playmaker. He does things other players in the league can only dream of.
The Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves, Portland Trail Blazers and Golden State Warriors have all been linked to him. Philadelphia sent trade offers to the Warriors, San Antonio Spurs and Toronto Raptors. The Indiana Pacers were the first team reported to have offered a trade for him.

Ultimately, it will be the San Antonio Spurs that land him in a trade. Simmons will become the new face of their franchise and if Gregg Popovich and his staff cannot further develop him, there likely isn’t a team in the NBA that can.
