Thaddeus Young
Thaddeus Young was acquired by the San Antonio Spurs this offseason as part of the DeMar DeRozan sign-and-trade with the Chicago Bulls. DeRozan signed a three-year, $85 million deal with the Bulls to initiate the deal.
Coming back to the Spurs was Young, Al-Farouq Aminu, a future first-round pick and two future second-round picks. Given the current state of the team, it would not be a surprise to see Young traded again in the coming weeks.
San Antonio isn’t a contender as currently constructed, so flipping Young for even more assets to make a bigger trade makes a lot of sense. Plenty of contenders would love to add Thaddeus Young to their roster.
He provides versatility defensively, as he can defend every frontcourt spot. He is consistent offensively, scoring in double-figures 13 consecutive seasons. Last season, Young even morphed into a point-forward, averaging a career-high 4.3 assists per game.
