3. Familiar Face To Help Transition
The Los Angeles Lakers are going to have upwards of 10 new faces on the roster this season. Depending on how things shake out with Marc Gasol, that number could increase to 11 or 12 before Opening Night.
That is why having a player such as Rajon Rondo in the mix makes for a good fit. Unlike the other players that the team signed, he already has experience playing with LeBron James and Anthony Davis under head coach Frank Vogel.
The transition will be an easier one for him and he will also help make it easier for his new teammates.
That experience that he brings with him will be integral to getting everyone up to speed this season. There aren’t many players in the NBA with a higher basketball IQ than Rondo, so you know he will help get things figured out.

Dwight Howard is in the same boat, as he was also with the Lakers during Rondo’s tenure with the team. Kent Bazemore, Trevor Ariza and Wayne Ellington are three more former Lakers returning to the team as well.
