Would this trade make sense for the Detroit Pistons?
Again, Josh Jackson is not a star that the Detroit Pistons need to move for a huge return but he might not be part of the long-term plan. This is what a rebuilding team should be looking to move right away. The Pistons unloaded some veteran players during the year and it could continue here with Jackson.
Derrick Rose was sent to the Knicks this season. These two sides have done business before and could get together once again. Blake Griffin agreed to a buyout and ended up in Brooklyn. This cleared up some space for the Pistons to use moving forward.
Cunningham is the main piece on this team. He has potential to be a star immediately. Detroit is an organization used to having that elite point guard leading the way and they are hoping that is what Cunningham is.
The young core is set and Knox could be another player to develop. He is not going to get a chance in New York and could benefit from an extended role in Detroit.

The Pistons are clearly in rebuild mode and this move would continue to reshape the roster. The front office can continue to be aggressive and make the necessary deals to build a winner down the line.
