Orlando Magic Receive: G Tyler Herro

Miami Heat Receive: G RJ Hampton, G Cole Anthony, 2022 First Round Pick, 2022 Second Round Pick (via IND)

Tyler Herro is the young backcourt piece that would be going to the Orlando Magic. He has looked like a future star over his first two years and can bring a lot to the rotation next to Jalen Suggs.

With Jimmy Butler locking in a massive contract extension in addition to Kyle Lowry and Bam Adebayo, the Heat need to make some long-term decisions about their spending. Would handing out a significant contract extension to Herro be the best decision?

Herro has been featured in some NBA trade rumors at times but ultimately was not dealt. At one point, there was an expectation that he would be moved but the situation has seemingly changed. However, it could benefit the Heat to move on from him.

Cole Anthony, who also looked promising during his rookie season, will lead the return going back to Miami. The Heat would also get RJ Hampton and some draft capital in next year’s draft.

A team like the Magic could be an ideal landing spot for Herro to shoulder a larger role. On a young team that Orlando has established, he could fit right in.
