3. Philadelphia 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers would be a great landing spot for JJ Redick for a multitude of reasons. For starters, he has familiarity with the organization. He spent two seasons with the 76ers, playing with them from 2017-2019.

He had the two best scoring seasons of his career in those seasons, averaging 17.1 and 18.1 points per game. The 76ers were one of the teams expected to be in the running to sign Redick had he secured the buyout he was seeking last season. Instead, he was traded further west, going from the New Orleans Pelicans to the Dallas Mavericks.

That disappointed Redick at the time, but now he will have the chance to pick where he wants to play. Philadelphia would keep him on the east coast, so he can be closer to his family. The team also has title aspirations, something he will take into consideration when picking his next team.

The 76ers could certainly use Redick’s 3-point shooting. While they ranked 10th in 3-point shooting percentage last season, it was on very low volume. They ranked 23rd in 3-pointers made per game and 26th in 3-pointers attempted per game.

Redick, who averages five attempts and more than two 3-point makes per game in his career, could provide some of that efficient volume.
