1. Minnesota Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves have been the one team linked to Danilo Gallinari this offseason the most. Two different reporters shared that they have shown interest in acquiring the Atlanta Hawks’ forward.

Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reported that the Timberwolves have been looking at Gallinari for months. John Hollinger, also of The Athletic, reported that Minnesota had their sights set on Kyle Kuzma before he was traded to the Washington Wizards as part of the Russell Westbrook deal. Unless he became available again, Gallinari was a player to watch for the Timberwolves.

The Timberwolves could use some help defensively in their frontcourt, but it is clear they are looking for a specific type of player to fill the power forward spot. One that can provide some floor spacing, shot-making and a little ball-handling is what they are looking to add alongside Karl-Anthony Towns.

Gallinari and Towns would be a difficult duo to stop offensively. Both are versatile pieces that can play inside and out on offense, giving Chris Finch a lot of variations he could run offensively.

Adding Gallinari to a group that also includes Anthony Edwards, D’Angelo Russell and Malik Beasley would provide Minnesota with a lot of firepower, but there would be a lot of questions when it came to who can get stops on the defensive end of the court for this team.
