Stephen Curry stands as the emblem of the Warriors, having dedicated 15 seasons to the franchise. Yet, if he harbors aspirations of vying for more championships, a change of scenery may be in order. Bovada’s odds for Curry’s next destination paint an intriguing picture, with the San Antonio Spurs emerging as the second-most favored choice at +650.

It seems that the era of dominance for the Golden State Warriors has reached its end. Falling to the Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament marks the third occasion in five seasons that the team has failed to secure a playoff berth.

Looking at the future, is it all that far-fetched to see a scenario where Curry ends up leaving Golden State?

Granted, there is still a good chance that he ends up finishing his career with the Warriors. But, if he doesn’t, teaming up with Victor Wembanyama would have to be an intriguing scenario.

Can you imagine a duo of Wembanyama and Curry? No defense would be able to shut down that tandem. With Curry’s shooting ability and Wembanyama’s size and skill-set, they would create matchup nightmares every single night.

Gregg Popovich and the Spurs have to be excited about the direction the franchise is heading in. Wembanyama has the potential to be one of the best players that the NBA has ever seen. Being able to add another superstar alongside him should be a top priority and a fit better than Stephen Curry does not exist.

All of that being said, no one knows what the future holds for the Warriors and Curry. If he leaves, the San Antonio Spurs would be a logical destination. Among the other teams that could be suitors are the Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte Hornets.

Expect to continue hearing speculation about Curry’s future in the coming weeks, months, and years. The Warriors seem far away from being a serious contender in the Western Conference again.
