Wesley Matthews
The Los Angeles Lakers have made no shortage of changes to their roster this offseason. Bringing in Russell Westbrook along with a slew of new complementary players could leave Wesley Matthews without much room to return as he remains in free agency.
Finding a different contender that could use more ‘3-and-D’ options on the wing like the Miami Heat could be the best case scenario for Matthews. Could that team be the Miami Heat?
It’s been a busy offseason for the Heat, to say the least. Miami came away with Kyle Lowry, PJ Tucker, and Markieff Morris in free agency all the while re-signing Duncan Robinson, Dewayne Dedmon, and Max Strus to keep them in town. Wesley Matthews would be an intriguing option to complete the haul.

The Heat did not end up having the arrangement with Avery Bradley work out as intended and as previously mentioned, he also remains in free agency. Perhaps pursuing a different veteran option could spark the results needed.
Wesley Matthews could help to fill the void left behind by Victor Oladipo’s ongoing recovery from injury and be a position-less ‘3-and-D’ option to make a helpful impact throughout games.
