Avery Bradley
The Miami Heat decided to go in a different direction than to bring back Avery Bradley in free agency. The team largely opted to bet on Victor Oladipo as a complementary option in the backcourt as he recovers from injury since he has a higher ceiling.
The Nuggets will be without Jamal Murray for much of at least the early portion of the 2021-22 season and adding more talent in the backcourt would go a long way.
Avery Bradley is not the kind of player that will consistently make plays with the ball. He can at least provide floor spacing for the key options on the perimeter that will shoulder more of the load while Murray is sidelined while being prepared to attack off-the-catch.
It never hurts to add players who have a reputation as being a tenacious on-ball defender, especially for a Nuggets team who needs more ‘stoppers’ to throw at dynamic guards. Avery Bradley could slot in and bring improvement in that regard.

Finding a winning team like the Nuggets to make consistent contributions could go a long way in Avery Bradley recovering some of his past value. Staying healthy will be key in doing so.
