Boston Celtics Receive: G Cole Anthony
Orlando Magic Receive: G/F Romeo Langford, 2023 first-round pick
The nature of this NBA trade scenario is rather straightforward. The only two players involved are Cole Anthony and Romeo Langford — creating a one-for-one swap.
The Boston Celtics would throw in an additional asset in the form of a future first-round pick in order to entice the Orlando Magic into parting with Cole Anthony in a trade.
There is a belief that Anthony could be expendable after the Magic used the No. 5 overall selection in the 2021 NBA Draft in order to take Jalen Suggs. There is much greater potential surrounding Suggs and the role will be smaller for Anthony — creating a logical outlet to ‘sell-high’ on Anthony’s trade value.
Both Anthony and Langford are set to earn very similar amounts of money on their 2021-22 salaries, so the impact of this trade would be minimal from a salary cap perspective. Boston would clear roughly $354K in spending for the upcoming season.

The Celtics would add Anthony into a point guard rotation that currently is projected to consist of Marcus Smart and Payton Pritchard.
