Does this trade make sense for the Toronto Raptors?

It was clear that Kyle Lowry was not going to return to the Raptors. He was one of the best players in franchise history but with his contract being up, he wanted to go to a contender.

That is the Miami Heat and Dragic was sent away in return. Miami was interested in upgrading at point guard last offseason but could not find the right option. Now, Toronto has a decision to make with Dragic.

If he is not going to be bought out, Dragic could be used as a trade piece. He still has some value and there would be interested teams, especially contenders. In this trade, the Raptors would get a replacement off the bench with Beverley and some help in the frontcourt.

This is something that the Raptors missed this past season as they struggled to find consistency. Toronto has their leader with VanVleet in place. Dragic could be a depth piece but if they feel his value is better in a trade, Ujiri could pull the trigger on a move sooner than later.

The Raptors have plenty of options this offseason and could decide to blow it up a bit. This is one that could fly under the radar but move quickly once free agency is over.
