Los Angeles Clippers Receive: G Goran Dragic

Toronto Raptors Receive: G Patrick Beverley, C Ivica Zubac, 2022 second-round pick

Goran Dragic has spent recent years in Miami. The Heat have decided to go a different route and brought Kyle Lowry to town. He joined the Heat in a sign-and-trade deal and Dragic was one of the pieces sent to Toronto.

Now, Dragic could be sent to a new team once again and it could be one looking to win a championship. The Los Angeles Clippers re-signed Reggie Jackson but that does not mean that they have to be done adding depth.

Dragic has experience on the biggest stage and can bring a lot to the rotation. He is a savvy pick-and-roll ball handler that can bring a needed impact offensively, especially in ways that Patrick Beverley has simply been unable to achieve.

Beverley and Ivica Zubac would be the players going back to Toronto, along with a second-round pick in next year’s draft. Both players are set to be on expiring deals and could be stopgap options as part of the Raptors’ rotation.

In this scenario, Beverley very well could find himself being dealt to another team. Zubac, on the other hand, could fill an important rim protector role that Aron Baynes was supposed to do.

Let’s take a closer look and see how this NBA trade scenario centered around Goran Dragic would impact both sides right away.
