1. New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans need to start upgrading the roster around Zion Williamson. They took the first step in being able to add some players to the mix by trading Eric Bledsoe and Steven Adams in a deal to the Memphis Grizzlies to clear cap space.

They surprisingly didn’t use the newfound space to match the offer sheet that Lonzo Ball signed with the Chicago Bulls, instead agreeing to a sign-and-trade for him. They executed another sign-and-trade with the Charlotte Hornets, bringing Devonte’ Graham on to replace Ball.

While it can be argued that Ball would have been a better investment, there is one thing that Graham excels at that the Pelicans need and that is 3-point shooting. That is what would make Kristaps Porzingis a good target for the Pelicans as well.

Porzingis and Williamson would make a strong inside-out duo in the Pelicans’ frontcourt. Williamson is arguably the most dominant player inside the paint currently in the NBA with his explosive athleticism and above-the-rim play. Porzingis is an excellent perimeter big man, knocking down 36.1 percent of his career 3-point attempts.

His presence would further help open things up in the middle for Williamson to dominate in the paint.
