Boston Celtics
Isaiah Thomas had some of the best seasons of his career with the Boston Celtics. It would be fitting, given how things ended between the two sides, if he came back during what could be the twilight of his career.
Thomas averaged 24.7 points during his 2.5 seasons with the Celtics. He added 6.0 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.0 steals as well in 32.2 minutes per game. While he most likely won’t be relied upon as a starter this time around, the Celtics does have a need at the point guard position.
With Kemba Walker being traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Brad Stevens has to find another point guard. Payton Pritchard played well as a rookie and is an option.
If the Celtics doesn’t want to put too much on his plate during his second season, adding a veteran such as Thomas to the mix makes sense.

Thomas would bring some scoring to a second unit that lacked much punch last season. Pritchard and Robert Williams III were the two leading scorers off the bench for the Celtics during the 2020-21 season but neither of them averaged double-figures.
