F JT Thor, Auburn
One of the biggest things teams look for when they are on the clock is how much upside a player has. We have seen teams select younger, less proven players because they believe that they have a higher ceiling than older, more established players. Auburn forward JT Thor would fit that description.
Projected as a late first-round pick, Thor will exceed his draft position. He is one of the youngest players in the draft, as he turns 19 on August 26th. He showed some flashes with his offensive game during his one season at Auburn, but patience will be required as he develops on that end of the court.
He is projected to become a solid 3-point shooter at the next level, something that would help him far exceed his projected draft slot.
However, it is easier to develop a player’s offensive game than other areas of basketball. There are just some things you cannot teach, such as size. Thor is listed at 6’9.25” with a ridiculous 7’3.25” wingspan.
He will be a terror defensively, as he can defend every frontcourt spot and is athletic enough to switch out on the perimeter.

Thor is the kind of player contending teams would add to their roster knowing he can help them out defensively from Day 1. If the offense comes around, we will look back in a few years and see Thor in redrafts going in the lottery.
